Resonance PC system requirements

Official minimum and recommended specifications first, followed by benchmark observations that retain their hardware and settings.

The official Steam requirements target 1080p Low at 30 FPS with a Ryzen 3 3100 or Core i3-12100, 16 GB of RAM, and a 6 GB RX 5500 XT or GTX 1060. The recommended target is 1080p Ultra at 60 FPS with a Ryzen 5 5600X or Core i5-12400F, 16 GB of RAM, and an 8 GB RX 6700 XT or RTX 3060 Ti. Both tiers require a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 installation, DirectX 12, 75 GB of storage, and an SSD.

Official requirements

Steam is the primary source because it names hardware and the intended output target together. A part list without resolution, quality, and frame rate is easy to misread. “Minimum” here does not mean high settings or an unrestricted frame rate; it means the publisher's 1080p Low, 30 FPS target. “Recommended” is specifically 1080p Ultra at 60 FPS, not an official 1440p or 4K guarantee.

The listing also requires DirectX 12.1 features and Shader Model 6.6. One Discord report claimed that a particular system was asked for Shader Model 6.7, but that was a single community technical report, not an official revision. This page retains Steam's published requirement until the store or developer changes it. If the launch error on your machine names a different shader level, include the exact message in a support report.

The 75 GB figure is repeated by Steam and Epic research. An AMD-related page was reported with a conflicting 50 GB figure and different hardware combinations, so it was not used as the storage authority. Leave additional free space for unpacking, shader caches, saves, and patches. A drive with exactly 75 GB free may still fail during installation or update operations.

Minimum target

The minimum CPU choices are AMD Ryzen 3 3100 and Intel Core i3-12100. The minimum GPU choices are AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT or Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 with 6 GB of VRAM. The system memory requirement is 16 GB. Because the target is 1080p Low at 30 FPS, a component that merely shares a similar product name is not automatically equivalent.

Laptop GPUs and CPUs can perform differently from desktop parts with the same family label because of power limits and cooling. Integrated graphics are not listed as supported equivalents. If your system falls below the VRAM requirement or lacks the requested DirectX feature level, upscaling cannot guarantee compatibility. It may improve performance after launch, but it cannot add hardware features the executable needs.

The SSD requirement is explicit. Installing on a hard drive and then diagnosing streaming pauses or launch behavior would test a configuration outside the published target. The recommended CPUs are Ryzen 5 5600X and Core i5-12400F. The recommended GPUs are Radeon RX 6700 XT and GeForce RTX 3060 Ti with 8 GB of VRAM. That combination targets 1080p Ultra at 60 FPS. It does not promise that every scene will hold exactly 60 FPS, and it does not define ray tracing, frame generation, or an official 1440p profile.

PCGamingWiki recorded options including TAA, DLAA, DLSS, FSR, frame generation, HDR, ultrawide support, and frame-rate limits from 30 to unlimited. That community-maintained technical page is useful for discovering settings, but its entries can change and are not a substitute for the official baseline. Verify an option in the current game menu before relying on it.

If your hardware sits between the tiers, begin with the lower target and change one expensive setting at a time. Use a repeatable scene, note resolution and upscaler mode, and distinguish average performance from the worst visible drop. A vague claim such as “runs fine on a 3060” is not transferable without the rest of the test conditions.

RTX 3060 observations

zWORMz Gaming tested an RTX 3060 12 GB with a Core i5-12600KF and 32 GB of RAM. The narrated test described roughly 60 FPS at 1080p Medium, with drops below that level in complex scenes. At 1440p, the tester preferred DLSS Quality. These are observations from that system and early build context, not official promises for every RTX 3060 computer.

The same test considered about 8 GB of VRAM adequate for high textures but suggested lowering textures when using an 8 GB card at 1440p with frame generation. CPU, memory, driver, background tasks, and scene complexity still matter. A 12 GB RTX 3060 and an 8 GB RTX 3060 Ti differ in more than memory capacity, so do not compare them by VRAM alone.

BenchmarKing tested individual settings and reported an optimized profile that improved an early heavy scene by about 29 percent relative to 1440p Ultra with DLSS Quality and high textures. The tester recommended High textures for 8 GB GPUs and observed that DLSS Ultra Quality behaved close to native or DLAA. That percentage belongs to the stated comparison, not to every system or location.

Settings and VRAM

Start with resolution, texture quality, and the available reconstruction method. Texture reductions mainly address memory pressure; they do not solve every GPU or CPU bottleneck. DLSS and FSR behavior depends on implementation, output resolution, and version. Frame generation can improve displayed frame rate while adding its own latency and memory considerations. Measure whether the base frame rate remains responsive before treating frame generation as a cure.

The two benchmark sources differed slightly on the 8 GB boundary. That is not necessarily a contradiction: their GPUs, scenes, target resolutions, and settings were different. The safe conclusion is that 8 GB meets the official recommended tier, while higher resolutions and frame generation may require more conservative textures. Keep the complete context whenever sharing a result.

If the game stutters during initial shader work, allow the process to complete before judging steady-state performance. Repeatedly clearing caches can force recompilation and make comparisons worse. Update one factor at a time, record the game and driver version, and use the same scene. If the game does not launch, performance tuning is premature; use the safe troubleshooting order instead.

Patches, drivers, and benchmark methodology can change results; current official requirements and tests using a reproducible current build should supersede this launch snapshot.
